Our vision
To see young women move from poverty and dependency towards dignity, purpose and secure futures through faith, family and work.
About Gate Beautiful
A Christian organisation equipping young women with professional childcare skills and supported pathways into meaningful employment.
A vision carried over many years
“Rise, walk and begin a new life.”
The vision for Gate Beautiful began shortly after our founder became a Christian in 2000. Her heart was drawn to young women who completed secondary school but could not afford college or further training. Without an employable skill, many had few choices and remained vulnerable to poverty and dependency.
The story of the man at the Beautiful Gate in Acts 3 offered a picture of the change she longed to see. Peter and John did not simply help him survive another day. Through Jesus Christ, he received strength to rise, walk and begin a new life.
That story inspired study in social work and an exploration of skills development as a practical pathway to meaningful employment. The vision was first recorded in 2004 and a small childcare training programme was later piloted at university.
Today, Gate Beautiful is the beginning of that vision becoming reality: equipping disadvantaged young women with professional childcare skills and walking alongside them towards dignified work and hopeful futures.
Domestic work is one of the most accessible ways for young women in Zambia to earn a living, and the role often includes caring for children. Yet there are few opportunities for formal childcare training. Gate Beautiful helps transform an informal role into skilled employment, while families benefit from nannies better prepared to care responsibly and support children's development.

Foundations for lasting change
Faith in Jesus Christ offers hope, identity and a foundation for life. We encourage women to recognise their God-given worth.
Healthy families provide belonging, care and stability. We equip women to contribute positively to their own families and those they serve.
Work carries dignity. Through skills and supported employment, young women can earn, provide and contribute to their communities.
The character behind our work
Honest, trustworthy and responsible — doing what is right and keeping our commitments.
Caring for children and families with compassion, respect, humility and excellence.
Using abilities, opportunities and resources wisely while continuing to develop potential.
